United Way of King County: 2013 All-Star Softball Classic for Homeless Youth
United Way of King County organized a big day at Safeco Field. With two teams headed by Jay Buhner and Dan Wilson and players from Seattle's generous corporate sponsors, community members played, watched, and supported homeless youth in this giant fundraiser. To support the event, we created transit signs, posters, uniforms, programs, event signs, social media graphics, and more. When the day ended, UWKC raised over $1.2 million in support of homeless youth.
Vashon Wilderness Program
The mission of VWP is to get kids, teens and adults out in nature. Their growing programs, located on Vashon Island and in Seattle, attract families from all over the Northwest. We created a new website which provides an easy way to communicate with current and future students. We made sure to develop all the tools they would need, including a calendar, blog, social media and Paypal graphics, and templates for e-newsletters. www.vashonwildernessprogram.org
Comprehensive Health Education Foundation
We created a faux TV dinner to use as a very targeted direct mail piece in search of a distributor for an anti-obesity campaign to run in schools. Thirty were mailed, and a distributor signed on within only a few weeks.
Girl Scouts of Western Washington
We produced an Annual Report, invitations and digital graphics supporting fundraising and marketing for the Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
American Parkinson Disease Association - Washington Chapter
We overhauled waparkinsons.org to look and function well as a site for people recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. The large type and friendly, bright design brings hope to visitors. A Drupal site, APDA Washington staff are able to log in and update the frequently-changing site information.
International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee partners with local communities and government agencies in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire to help transform education for children and youth. This series of in-depth reports highlights the important contribution that education makes in preventing the return to violence and war.
The Mockingbird Society
We generated a variety of materials to support the work of The Mockingbird Society in transforming the U.S. foster care system. The bright graphics were conceived to communicate concepts of independence and self-sufficiency to an audience of teens and young adults.
United Way of King County: Campaign Materials
Our creative work supporting United Way of King County's 2010–2011 Campaign included materials such as banner ads and brochures, as well as a crossword puzzle, word search and bingo game designed to engage volunteers managing workplace campaigns. The Vice President of Branding at United Way of King County had this to say:
"Just a quick note to say thank you for all your hard and excellent work on the new materials and website, and to pass on to you how well received this year’s campaign materials were. I can’t remember a time when we had such a positive response from the Board of Directors"
Women's Refugee Commission
We produced Refugee Girls: The Invisible Faces of War for WRC’s 20th anniversary celebration. The book includes the inspiring stories of six refugee women and brings attention to the struggle for survival in war-torn countries and refugee camps. We also designed Your Right to Education, a handbook used to educate refugees. In addition to text in French, Arabic and English, the book includes clear, simple illustrations by R. Gregory Christie that solved the problem of conveying to those who can’t read that education is their right.
